Jelly-Roll Rug

The Jelly Roll are cute, round fabric "treats".  Bring your snacks, drinks or lunch. We will not have a lot of eating time because we will be sewing like mad to try and get as close to finishing as possible. This rug is made from 100% cotton batting wrapped in stylish fabrics and sewn into a beautiful piece that can be a fun punch of color or made to blend into surrounding decor.
In this class learn tips and tricks to make beautiful and colorful jelly roll rugs. All you need is some pre-cut batting, a jelly roll of fabric and our great teacher!

What to Bring:

Your Sewing machine, and general purpose foot
(Applique foot)Extension table helps to keep your rug level while sewing. (You do not “have” to have it but it makes your sewing easier)
Supplies you will need for your Jelly Roll Rug:
Jelly Roll Rug Pattern
1-42 Strip Jelly Roll of your choice
1- LARGE Bosal Batting or 2-small Bosal Batting
1-pkg Universal needle (90)
Fabric Tube Maker
Cotton Thread-1 large spool (Quilting thread). 

If you choose to use your own fabric rather than use the pre-cut jelly roll, you will need to pre-cut everything before class as we DO NOT have time built into the class for anything other than sewing. 

You will need (40) 2.5” x WOF 
10 fabric with 4 strips each OR 8 fabrics with 5 strips each

You can mix and match your patterns or have a solid color rug

You will need to cut the same amount of thin batting but trust me the Bosal Batting rolls make it so much easier.

Pre-sewing of strips is required prior to class. Directions for doing this can be found on the first page of the pattern book.  All directions from "Piece The Jelly-Roll Strips" need to be completed prior to class. For additional  assistance call (919.774.4700) or stop by the shop.
